Will you post...I bet the nursery is just gorgeous! Will you post some pictures of it when it's ready? I'd love to see. I was thinking about you and remembering that when you were where I am now (20 weeks or so), you already were investigating day cares and registering for baby things and you were so organized in getting everything handled! I'm still in awe. I finally convinced my DH we should clean out the garage...and that's as far as we've gotten. I need to start pushing a little harder. I am opposite you as far as the name thing - I legally added my DH's last name (following my last name, but not hyphenated) but in 90% of situations I go by my "own" (maiden) name. So I'm having name issues too...what to do? Not sure.Best When Used Byhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17252417951291793892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2792986750601020163.post-4052576493908847982009-10-30T23:25:26.322-04:002009-10-30T23:25:26.322-04:00So many great and wonderful things going on. Exce...So many great and wonderful things going on. Except of course the worry. That none stop, always in the back of your mind worry!!! I can totally relate. I promise as time goes by, it will get easier.
As for the birth certificate--it won't be in your husband's name. You have to fill it out with the mother's maiden name. I am not sure why, that is just how it is. But, the baby will be listed in the hospital as the "hubby's last name" Baby, as opposed to your ex's last name baby. I only know this because for many of the same reasons as you, I never took my husband's last name when our son was born. He was NOT a happy camper when our son was listed as "my maiden name" Baby in the hospital. In addition, when people called and asked for me under my husband's name, I did not come up as a patient in the hospital. So it was a hassle.
This time (God willing) I have officially changed my name and my husband will be much happier about that. No matter how many times I tried to reassure him, it didn't matter, he didn't care. In fact, it still bothers him that all of our son's paperwork from the hospital is under my maiden name. Oh boy--sometimes they are so sensitive.
Good luck with getting everything done and having a TON of fun doing it.
Please post pics, I'd love to see the finished products!!!!kcmom14http://www.onemorelittleone.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
